Awesome song, I approve.

Now the radio is playing a DMX song.  Remember him?  I didn't, until now.

I remember the name, but wouldn't remember a song of his if you played it for me.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Teenage Bottlerocket- "Bigger than Kiss".

That was DMX? I thought that was Ja Rule.

Man, a lot of rappers from the first half of the decade went nowhere before long. Remember when 50 Cent was like the biggest thing ever?

Fixed with authority.  ;)

Less musicians with sticks crammed up their rears would do a world of wonder to the industry.

Really? Death metal is one of the more vibrant scenes out there IMO. True, there are a lot of obnoxious Gorguts knock-offs, but I find a good fluctuation of technical and "classic" death acts all the time. Not as much as doom, mind you, but still more than thrash at least, which at this point consists of primarily Amebix wannabes.

Anyway, randomly playing Rumours, cause why not, and "Dreams" is on. I can't believe considering how huge this band and album was, this was their only chart-topper. It's such a beautiful song though.

I hate mindless screaming for entire songs. It robs all emotion from music. At least "butt rock" attempts to be enjoyable. I'd rather listen to Cheap Trick at the Budokan than some guy screaming about how life is pain while the same boring double bass plays in my ear for 4+ minutes.

Wow, no joke? I thought Rumours and Tusk were HUGE.

I'll grant you that my favorite kind of death metal growls are the kind where you can actually hear the lyrics, like Schuldiner's, and one of my least favorite tropes today is how many bands have undetectable vocals. It's really become a problem in the past 15 or so years.

Which is why I'll always recommend Death and Cynic for death metal recs. Death for the reasons I listed above, and also their progressive growth from a horror-themed death metal act to one that used actual horrors for lyrical content to quasi-prog metal. And Cynic has a combination between equally accessible growling and audible singing, although they've become increasingly less heavy since Focus.

Oh, well they totally were, but only that 1 song hit #1.

"You Make Loving Fun" is on now. I honestly think this might be my favorite on the album

Hey man, I love Journey. Even "Don't Stop Believin", as overdone as it is (I blame Glee for that, though).

Avaitor, on the other hand...  :humhumhum:
