Flamin' Groovies - Have You Seen My Baby?

Best Randy Newman cover ever? Probably.  :D

Barenaked Ladies - "Another Postcard"

Haha, haven't heard this one in ages until now. Still pretty catchy, I'll admit.

I haven't actually listened to them since Steven Page left, and have no real intention to.

But I like all their pre-Separation stuff.

That song was made before Page left, though.  ;)

Other than the theme to Big Bang Theory (ugh), I'm not too familiar with much of anything they've made after 2004. They have some catchy older stuff, but are more reserved to nostalgic listening for me now.

Oh, I know. I like Another Postcard, but Everything To Everyone was kind of a letdown album.

The last thing they did with Page was a two album set called "Barenaked Ladies Are Me/Barenaked Ladies Are Men" one slower and the other more focused on rock. It has their best material since Maroon on it, but after that there stuff just doesn't sit right with me.

Rwake- "Levicitus"

I loves me some sludge.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Electric Six - Immolate Me

The lyrics are so hilarious. Excellent parody of "deep" rock songs about love.

QuoteJapanese, Chinese, it's all the same
I can't tell Corey Feldman from Corey Haim
I'm dying in the dark
Come illuminate me in love
Come illuminate me in love

We can throw your man
in the trunk of my car
Throw his body down the river
keep his head in a jar
You're burning me up
Girl you come to immolate me tonight
you come to immolate me

I had fire in my hands
and now it's in the hands of some other man
I'm doing fine, don't worry about me
I've got 47 channels on my tv

Brilliant.

Spacehog - Cruel To Be Kind

I found the album for $0.01 on Amazon and grabbed it. It's actually a bit hard to swallow that this came out in 1995 and was actually a hit album. Sure, In The Meantime is brilliant and one of the best singles of the decade, but the lyrics in general are just so much more positive and uplifting than any of the stuff coming out around that time. The rest of the album doesn't quite reach the brilliance of that song, but it's all really good stuff and was more than worth the price. I really dig the sound, like if Marc Bolan started an alt rock band in the early 90s.

Still there is a part of me that wishes the rest of the album was on par with that song, even if the rest of it is still great stuff.

I'm glad that you enjoy it, at least for the most part.

Angel Witch- "Dead Sea Scrolls"

Not bad. Not on par with their classic eponymous debut, but in terms of new work from mid-first tier/upper-second tier NWOBHM bands, it's pretty solid.

Maybe I sound more down on it then I meant, I actually really like it as a whole. Just that In The Meantime is clearly the best track on it.

I'm kind of surprised the album even came out, seeing as it wasn't a mopey sleeping pill like most mainstream rock at the time. In fact, it's pretty upbeat.
