Oh yeah, forgot about those! (Also forgot about the BB album supposedly being the best one since the 80s comeback one) So yeah, it's doable.

So I guess I can only hope that if there are any ballads, they'll hopefully be kept to a minimum.

I wouldn't even mind more ballads so much if the band wasn't in their 60's and too old to try to make us feel bad about crappy relationships or whatever they used to write them about. It's one thing to still write rockers, it's another to pretend like you're still partying and angst-ridden as you were at your peak. Because that simply isn't the case anymore.

And you know what comeback album I'd like to hear? I wouldn't mind it if Jefferson Airplane, not Starship or whatever, come back and do one more album. I'm not expecting something on the level of Surrealistic Pillow, but I'd like to hear Grace Slick's voice just one more time.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Yeah, hedonistic stuff makes sense when you're a teenager on in your twenties, but it gets kind of old after decades of the stuff. It's pretty much why the Stones couldn't make a good album post-Some Girls.

But writing about how fun it is to rock? Never gets old. It's why classic '50s rockers are still great fun today.

Oh, so we talked about new No Doubt, but have you heard -url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf6jNeCQv2k]new Matchbox 20[/url]?

So. Fucking. Blah. It has the same problem as "Settle Down", too- no identity. If Rob Thomas's vocals weren't so recognizable, it could easily be a Maroon 5 or dubstep-era Green Day track.

I'm so over the music industry. There's just no soul left in it. You know it's bad when you're hoping decades old bands deliver music as good as they wrote decades ago.

I didn't think it was THAT bad myself. :P

But yeah, I get what you're saying.

Can't believe I missed this post, but... yeah. This. Right here.

I know Starship is still plugging away in some form or another (don't even know who's still left at this point), but that's just... ehhhhh. And even going beyond the really obvious bad stuff (WE BUILT THIS CITYYYYY ON ROOOOOOOOOOCK AND ROOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLL), that whole era of the band is just so forgettable to me. I mean, they've got some okay stuff I guess; "Find Your Way Back" is decent, but otherwise... it's just all so meh.

I'd love to see new Airplane though. Grace, Paul, Jorma, Marty... let's get them all back together again. Their last "comeback" album was back in 1989, so we're due.

Yeah, I don't care much for (Jefferson) Starship much at all, but I'd love to see if they can pull off one more Airplane album.

Bruce Dickinson- "Power of the Sun"

Been in a mood for solo Bruce lately. The last album he did isn't too strong, but it contains some gems like this.

Mid to late 70's Jefferson Starship has some really good AOR stuff.  It's only when they dropped the "Jefferson" altogether  in the 80s that they went downhill.

Speaking of Green Day, you know that NBC show The Voice? Billy Joe is going to be a part of it now. He's going to team up with Christina Aguilera I guess.

Motorhead- "Doctor Rock"

Lynyrd Skynyrd - "That Smell"

Is it time to start drinking already?  Shit.

a-Ha- "I Dream Myself Alive"

What a strong, overlooked album. "Take On Me" is great, of course, but so is every other track.

Deathspell Omega- "Fiery Serpents"

Starting the new EP up, and I'm really liking it. It's already getting justly brutal. :swoon:
