So Halloween was a lot of fun this year. In general, this was a good October season. I always feel a bit bad when this month ends, because I love getting into the horror mood.

It seems after seven years, I've finally managed to get a job again! I'd mostly been doing Target, but other than getting at least eight interviews at different times, I never got in with them. I applied at this local Southern fast food joint and am supposed to come in on Thursday for an orientation. The guy said I'll start as a busboy, then eventually they'll bump me up to a cashier. We'll see how things go, but hopefully it will work out. I'll just be glad if I can finally put some recent experience on a resume, considering the only other job I had was at BLockbuster.

Oh, that's great. Congrats. Glad to see other people have luck with finding jobs.

As for me, recently I got a bit of what I would like to call a promotion at my job. I went from being a cart attendant to working the overnight shift stocking shelves at my local supermarket. I get a bit of a pay increase and I get to join the union on top of that. Mostly working 3-4 days, getting used to idea of going to bed in the morning and waking up later in the afternoon.

I just had my first day of work at Zaxbys, which was pretty rewarding. I'm already excited to go back tomorrow.

Happy to report my first two weeks went very well. Oddly enough, on the first day I was supposed to work, they had to close due to a power outage that happened.  It was just as well, because it gave my mom a chance to talk with my boss for a bit about what my job would entail. She doesn't mind me cleaning everything including the bathrooms, but she's made it clear she doesn't want me handling money on the register. My boss told her that cashier is a catch-all term for people who work the floor. He said he understood completely and that he had enough people running the registers so they shouldn't be sending me up there. Fine with me, because I've seen just how busy they can. Also, with their drive-thru I'm not confidant myself that'd I wouldn't get distracted.


I got let off early Friday that week, then again the day before Thanksgiving. Plus just this past Friday, I managed to get my first tip!  Five bucks from these two older ladies, because I got one of the assistant managers to switch out their rotten smelling coleslaw for green beans. I only have to work fours for right now between the late morning and early afternoon, which is fine.

Well, I've been gone a while.

Nice to be back! I've had a LOT on my plate this month including having to help my aunt who went in for an operation. Needless to say, I think I'll be able to post on a more regular basis again.
