I had no idea this part of the forum even existed.

I usually don't post at this time until the weekend or I got the day off, but in this case, I got off work early. Since May 2011, I haven't really had much of a chance to settle on a schedule because my schedule keeps switching, and it's no different here. I was just recently on nights trying to get adjusted to 10 hrs again (Mon-Thurs) starting at 4pm-2:30am. When I got in this spot it was 3pm-11:30pm on 5 days. Tomorrow I go back to where I originally started from 7am-3:30pm. I can't get a break in terms of trying to get situated. I keep getting put all over the place. On the bright side I get to enjoy my days again. Bad part is I don't get to enjoy before laid off for the next 2 weeks (I know, it's sad when you actually look forward to layoffs).

My friend, who has recently been going over a break-up, is starting an account on an online dating site, and that has made me start to think if I should consider doing the same. The way most of us have tried to find and win over girls, by relying on friends and friends of friends to just chill and eventually introduce us to someone, isn't really working since there's nothing close to a single girl in my entire circuit of friends. Maybe if I tried something like this, the search wouldn't be so shout.

Although I'd at least want to find a job and get a better idea of what my future is past community college before thinking about stuff like this. Besides that, it may be a decent idea to try.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

So, I was trying to see if I could make it down to Orlando in September, but I don't think that's gonna happen now since they are trying to send me out to a school in San Diego for two and a half months.  Which sounds great to me, haven't set foot in Cali since 2005, can't wait to tear up San D and LA, and maybe even make my way up to San Jose on a weekend, visit my birth town again.

Hey Tikvah, you live in SoCal right?  How about a meetup if I do make it out there?

Would love to, but I'm pretty busy right now with work and some tutoring during the week. But then again, it is 2 free months so I'm sure I'd have a few free weekends.

So yeah, keep the line open and we'll see what happens.

Oh, it's not until early October.  I'm still not even in the States right now.

I'm down in Georgia for the 4th. Hopefully I'll get to go out on the lake tomorrow.

I currently have two jobs.

One I've had for a few years now. Ushering at a music venue (the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, as it's called) for concerts and orchestras and stuff like that. My second job, which I just got recently, is being a busboy in a golf club.

In my ushering job, I only get $25 per concert, but I love my job.

In my busing job, I get $8 an hour, while the job itself is just "decent".

Despite my heavy favoritism for my ushering job, whenever a night comes where I'm schedule to work both jobs, sadly it's the busboy job that always prevails as it's the one where I make legit money ($25 a night is a joke, I just do the ushering job cause it's something I love doing). In addition, I can easily get out of my ushering job days before worknight, whereas I need to request time off two weeks in advance whenever I need time off at the golf club.

There are exceptions though, when I can say "Screw it, I want to usher that night instead" and plan ahead. For example, in a few weeks is a "Disney's Fantasia: Live in Concert" orchestra coming, and I want to be there for that. My brother also wants to see the Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddess orchestra performing that same week, so I figure I'll be there too.

And then there are nights like this upcoming Saturday which is a concert titled "Furthur" which has an awful reputation for being a disaster with a crowd of 10,000+ people (80% of them are either high or drunk), and we'd essentially get overrun by the swarms. We've become able to control it, but only with every single person working the concert. So I had a good excuse to make sure I could be there for this one. Luckily I wasn't even schedule for this Saturday though, so there's that.

I've been giving it a lot of thought lately, and I think I'm going to audition to become a voice actor for Funimation and/or Sentai.

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

That would be awesome! Especially since you are in the same state where FUNi is headquartered!

I'm sure voice-acting is a lot harder than it looks, of course, so it may take a lot of practice to get basic skills down, but if you're serious about it, then I say definitely go for it. Voice-acting is something that I myself have always kind of wanted to do, but the line of work that I chose to go into pretty much left me no room for any other professions on the side. That, and my voice sounds horrible. :(
