The Sword- "Cheap Sunglasses"

Sick cover! Okay, I'm glad I checked these albums out. I should try to buy them now, like I have the first 2.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

90's bug bit me...a'gin!!:

Saint Etienne - "Like a Motorway"
Queen Pen - "Party Ain't a Party"
Well, I got so burned out on the road
Too many fags, too much blow
And then Mick and I split up and I said,
"Kid, it's time to take a little bit of a hiatus."
So I got myself a gig at the coffee shop
and I love it.
Why don't you take that corner booth,
I'll take your order in a minute...

Listening to some random Firesign Theater:

"How come we found you in a classroom today? Why weren't you hanging out in the parking lot, relating to the kids and teachers?"
"I don't smoke."

"Malcolmx Johnlennon, come on in and dig your mother."
"Aw, mom, I can't now. I gotta go do my homewor-- I MEAN I gotta meet my connection!"
"You can't fool me, you're in one of those underground study sails, aren't you?!"
"NO!!"
"It'll kill your father. I didn't breast feed you for 14 years for this."

John (Corbell) sent me an album called In A Tidal Wave Of Mystery by Capital Cities. I looooove it! I haven't quite listened to the whole thing yet, but tracks 3-5 are a slice of absolute perfection.

Yeah, I like the album. Funny enough, they recorded Safe And Sound in 2011 and while it was in constant rotation on Sirius, it and a bunch of other indie songs by newer bands started showing up on mainstream radio en mass about a year ago. I think by the time they recorded the rest of the album their sound had changed a bit. At least, the rest of the album sounds like it was recorded separate from that single.

I noticed that too! Safe And Sound is really good, but I think I prefer the more disco/funk-influenced sound of the rest of the album. But hey, that's just the kind of music I like to begin with. ;)

In Solitude- "A buried Sun"

This album was a birthday request that came by just in time. It's killer so far.

Spark Of Spirit

Madcap - Lovesick

Their only exceptional song, in my opinion.
"The world will never starve for want of wonders, but for want of wonder." - G.K. Chesterton

I think the reason I fell in love with Safe and Sound is because the trumpets remind me of old Sonic music. Like Marble Garden or something.

Lana Del Rey - "Summertime Sadness".

Never really felt any of her music until this song.
