I like Sonic & Knuckles a bit more than Sonic 3. Both are roughly equal in my opinion, though.

Well, there's me, but I didn't vote because I hadn't played any of these games besides Majora's Mask, in the first place. So, my vote just wouldn't be fair in any conceivable way. Rynnec also hasn't voted yet, though he only occasionally votes in these matches, and I don't know if this is a round that would interest him or not.

They're just standard platformer bosses.

To be fair, I honestly never felt like boss fights were ever a strong-suit of Sonic games in general. I don't think that there is a single boss fight in any of the classic games that stand out to me at all. On that end, I don't really find that Sonic 3 & Knuckles was any better than Sonic 2 when it came to boss fights. Now, I do remember liking some of the BIG boss fights in the Sonic Adventure games when I was younger, but looking back at them now, that has more to do with the spectacle of those fights (at the time) than their actual design. Having said that, I do still think that the 1st phase of the Biolizard boss fight is probably the best designed boss fight from either of the SA games, and I still say that it holds up pretty well today; at least relative to the rest of the boss fights from those games.

Sonic games are some of my favorite games, but their bosses have never been particularly amazing to me aside from the final boss in Doomsday Zone. They're mostly just good to me. Nothing special. That said, Mario is the same way to me, and those are still some of my favorite games.

If we're talking bosses, it was Mega Man that really made them something special.
