Didn't think I'd see this below REmake and RE2.

I've ranked the three in that order for quite some time now.

I thought you liked Max Payne 2 more than the first one.

....I don't think I talked to you that long ago. I changed my opinion on that years ago. Let's see...6, going on 7 years ago when my oldest little brother downloaded Max Payne 1 on the only competent PC we've ever had. Max Payne 2 gets the medal of honor for having the absolute best console shooter controls ever (still irked that 3 will only have to weapons since the first two games handled weapon swapping perfectly) and the Bullettime system/infinite shootdodges makes me drool but MP being such a better experience makes it beat the 2nd for me. And your ass was supposed to play Metal Slug 2 on Gametap with me.

Not a single Contra game! FAIL LIST IS-oh I'm kidding it's a pretty good list.

Though honestly, if Yakuza 1 had a Japanese option (not to hate on Mark Hamill, though)  and a fighting system as good as the later games, it would easily be the better game of the first two in my eyes. as it is, it's great.

I'm surprised to see no Mario 3 on your list (I swear it was no. 1 last time) and I didn't know Contra Shattered Soldier was your favorite in the series with how much you hated it being too much of a bossorama.

Gunbird 2 is a vertical shmup on the Dreamcast, Cannon Spike is an arcade shooter on the Dreamcast, and Prject Justice is the sequel to Rival Schools and was only released here on the Dreamcast.

Oh, this list was just for last gen. Shattered Soldier was not perfect, but it was a good game. It just needed more levels and less bosses to take up all the playtime.

Awesome lists, Foggle and Desen/Spark. Both of you have games that I of course still have to try, but overall they were both well put-together lists. I'm actually surprised that Halo made it into your top 10, though, Desen, even if it is just a library list. I mean, I know you like it but wasn't sure of your standing on it relative to other games you owned from last gen. That's not to say that I dislike that placing at all, as its easily my personal favorite FPS from last gen along with maybe TimeSplitters 2.

I may put together my own list based on my own library, but I'll have to go back home and look up what I have in my collection since I don't even remember what the hell I own from previous generations.

I knew I was missing something! But yeah, Halo and Timesplitters 2/3 were my favorite FPSs from last gen. I really hope Crytek lets the Free Radical team make a new one sometime soon like they hinted at.

Yeah, that's true, I just keep mixing things up and forgetting that F.E.A.R. is a last-gen game. It came out at such a border-line time that I sometimes think its a current-gen game even though I said its a last-gen game numerous times. In that regard, its easily my favorite FPS of last-gen, though Halo isn't too far behind, nor is TimeSplitters.
