What about DmC? :sly:
Heh heh haven't played it.

Good job on having Max Payne in your top 5. It couldn't make mine due to all the sequels I love.

I had to add SSX Tricky because of how much fun it is. Namely Tokyo Megaplex. Perhaps the most fun level out of any game.

Okay, I think I've finally finalized my top 15 (not a troll list this time, I promise):

15. Max Payne
14. Hitman: Blood Money
13. Half-Life
12. Super Metroid
11. The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker
10. System Shock 2
9. Thief 2: The Metal Age
8. Bayonetta
7. Borderlands 2
6. Resident Evil 4
5. Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
4. Ninja Gaiden Black
3. Deus Ex
2. F.E.A.R.
1. God Hand

I'll explain any of these if you ask me to, but I don't really feel like spending 30 minutes typing up my opinions you've all heard a million times right now. ;)

Awesome list! But I always thought you liked REmake more than RE4.

15. Max Payne

Awesome!
Quote14. Hitman: Blood Money

I still need to try this game. I'll trust you that its better than Contracts.

Quote13. Half-Life

I still need to finish this game (i.e., I need to get the game running properly on my computer again), and play its expansion packs. From what I have played of it (which is up to chapter 12), I think its just as good as Half-Life 2, which means that its a damn good game.

Quote12. Super Metroid

I still need to go back to playing this one.

Quote11. The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker

I always knew that you liked this game, but I never realized it was one of your favorites. Either way, we're in mutual agreement. ;)

Quote10. System Shock 2
9. Thief 2: The Metal Age

Both games that I need to play.

Quote8. Bayonetta

A game that I need to finally buy and play properly.

Quote7. Borderlands 2

I need to play the first one, and this one as well. Probably the only RPGs that catch my interest this generation, really.

Quote6. Resident Evil 4

Fantastic game. You and talonmalon333 really got me into it, and its easily one of those few games that I find to be every bit deserving of the massive praise it has garnered over the years.

Quote5. Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando

I LOVE the multiplayer for this game. I have such fond memories of playing all the different types of matches with an old friend of mine, back in the day, and it was insanely addicting and fun. My favorite type of match was the one where you fought your opponent over capturing territories and such (I think it might have been a capture the flag sort of mode, but I can't exactly remember). I definitely need to borrow my brother's PS2 and buy all 3 R&C games for that console so that I can finally experience them for myself.

Quote4. Ninja Gaiden Black

:swoon:

Quote3. Deus Ex

Once again, I need to play this one as well. I'll probably get to it after I beat Half-Life and both of its expansions.

Quote2. F.E.A.R.

Best FPS ever. Thanks for getting me into it. ;)

Quote1. God Hand

As per usual, its another game that I need to buy and borrow my brother's PS2 to play. I WILL definitely get to this one....eventually.

I've always seen them as about equal, and now I've finally decided that 4 is my favorite of all. ;)

Yeah, I love it a lot! It's one of the only games where I really want to get lost in its world. Even with the Triforce hunt, I consider it nearly flawless in all aspects.

Maybe you should wait until you get a good PC somewhere down the line. They'll both be super cheap by then, and we can play co-op online. :joy:

I probably never would have gotten into this game without your recommendation, nor would I have discovered my love of the hack 'n slash and beat 'em up genres. Thanks for that. ;)

I really need to play REmake for myself, one of these days. I DID actually see a friend of mine play through most of the game (he may have even beaten it in one 3-4 hour sitting, but I don't quite remember), and it was a great experience even to just watch the game being played. That said, back then I was a kid and was way too scared to play the game for myself. Now I think that kind of game is awesome and wish I could go back and play it sometime. Also, I have to say that the look of the game has aged extremely well. It still looks both gorgeous and haunting at the same time, thanks to the hand-drawn backgrounds mixed in with the surprisingly smooth character models. To me, its probably the scariest RE game, as I have seen Youtube videos of other RE games being played, and none of them seemed to be able to match up to the atmosphere of this particular game (there's just something about a mansion setting that freaks me out more than any city or village setting).

QuoteYeah, I love it a lot! It's one of the only games where I really want to get lost in its world. Even with the Triforce hunt, I consider it nearly flawless in all aspects.

Also, for what its worth, I actually ENJOYED the Triforce hunt. I LOVE the sailing aspect of the game and to me that segment of the game was really one big excuse to have you fully appreciate the breadth of this game's world and explore it as much as possible. I got a lot of side-quests done during this portion of the game and I also love some of the ways in which you found Triforce pieces, with the most memorable one being where you boarded the Ghost Ship which only appeared during a certain kind of moon. I just love mystical kind of like that in my adventure games, personally.

Sounds good, but that....might take a while. If I'm going to play any Borderlands game within the next few years, it'll probably have to be on my XBOX360, but that said, I would be happy to re-buy the games on a PC whenever I get a good one (assuming that I enjoy them enough, which I'm sure won't be a problem ;) ).

QuoteI probably never would have gotten into this game without your recommendation, nor would I have discovered my love of the hack 'n slash and beat 'em up genres. Thanks for that. ;)

It also got me into the hack n' slash genre as well. I remember that I used to be envious that the PS2 had the Devil May Cry series, as I was dying for a game with cool melee-combat which the XBOX was sorely lacking, but unfortunately that was the console that I was stuck with (it wasn't my choice, as my older brother was the one who got the console). But, not so unfortunately, Tomonobu Itagaki decided to release his new action game for the XBOX, and I got treated to what is my personal favorite game in the genre. To me, it has the great level and enemy design that can be compared to the first DMC game, while having a breadth of depth to its combat that can honestly rival the latter DMC games and even Bayonetta, albeit not in the same way; rather than juggle-based combat, its more of an accumulation of both defensive and offensive skills, and successfully linking them together.

QuoteYessssss. :happytime:

Now, if only we could get a game with classic DOOM's level design and F.E.A.R.'s AI (or even Halo's AI, for that matter, though F.E.A.R. is still superior), it would be the recipe for greatness.

In that case, I suggest skipping to Borderlands 2 for now, unless you have someone to play with. I, personally, love both games as single-player titles, but a lot of people find the first one to be pretty boring solo.

Meant to respond to this sooner.

If RE4 and REmake were fairly closely matched, I would've expected REmake to at least make the tip of this list. :P

I wanted to limit it to one game per franchise.

I was never a fan of that rule. If it's a favorite list, shouldn't it just be your favorite games regardless of how many come from a certain franchise?

It's probably because that would make a lot of lists boring to read and not so fun to put together.

That's the point where you expand it to a top 15, or 20, or 25. :P
