Favorite Games Ever (Besides Ninja Gaiden, Obviously)

I really like all 3 original DOOM games, that's probably why I'm extra skeptical about 4. I really don't want them to mess up my favorite FPS series.

The original version of DOOM 3 is a good game, IMO. It was modernized just enough to fit in with contemporary shooters of the time, and used the updated graphics to add an effective horror atmosphere to the game, but much of the combat still felt like a DOOM game. The level design is the only thing holding the game back from being on par with the older games, IMO, but it's understandable that it was a bit more streamlined since dumb-ass critics would have complained about the labyrinth-style levels of the older games.

It's not a classic like the first two games or the N64 exclusive, but it still holds up and definitely deserves attention from any hardcore DOOM fans.

That really is a mystery. Licensing issues, maybe? But at least there's a pretty good (unofficial) PC port.

Midway doesn't exist anymore, but they could always get another publisher for the VC version. It's happened before. Otherwise, I don't see the problem. You could even have dual stick controls since the Wii U VC allows button remapping.

Really, playing DOOM on the gamepad with off-TV play would be so cool. Especially with headphones!

I can understand putting a Souls game in the top 20, and hell, I don't even have a problem with them listing one at the top since it's their list (granted that, this feels like a "fad" decision,  rather than a genuine one), but to have three of them listed in the top 20....really? Bloodborne literally only came out this year, at that.

And no SMB3 or Sonic, Ratchet, Contra, or Mega Man games is straight out bizarre.

I really don't want to rage at someone else's favorite video games like I'm 15 again... but this is seriously the worst list I've seen in some time.

The top 4 are straight up fad choices. Which isn't necessarily to say that I don't think deserve to be there (I loved the first 2/3 of Dark Souls), but seriously... ew. I support MGS5 being considered one of the best stealth games ever (still trying to decide if it's dethroned Blood Money, Thief 2, and Deus Ex for me), but it's not even a month old. Minecraft is #10 what the fuck. Why is Destiny here? Puzzle & Dragons? Her goddamn Story? I'm genuinely surprised Flappy Bird isn't in the top 10.

And no SMB3 or Sonic, Ratchet, Contra, or Mega Man games is straight out bizarre.

No Donkey Kong Country, Silent Hill, Final Fantasy, or Deus Ex either. Jesus.
