Yeah, count me in as another who never finished Viewtiful Joe. I liked it enough, but my utter ineptitude caused me to lose interest pretty fast.

...of course, that was years ago. I can't remember if I was playing it on Kids mode or not; probably not, because I was pretty awful at it. I should really take another crack at it one of these days.

Kids mode doesn't punish you for being bad at it, but Adults sure as hell does.

Thinking of going ahead and picking up Viewtiful Joe 2, as well. Few questions first, though:

Is it as good?
How is the difficulty balancing?
GameCube or PS2?

Spark Of Spirit

I haven't played it yet, but apparently it's much easier, has more platforming/traps, and is while not a masterpiece like 1 is still a pretty good game. Since I got it for $6, I figured what the hell, you know?

The Gamecube version is the better one because of better performance, from what I've heard. Though they have identical content, so I don't think it really matters which.

Definitely gonna' grab it, then. I like the sound of more platforming and gameplay that won't brutalize my anus with a screwdriver (I just hope it's not too easy)!

On a different note, does anyone else agree that Travis Touchdown would make an excellent guest character in Anarchy Reigns? There's a lot of potential there and I think he'd fit in perfectly. Regardless, I'd pay in excess of $100 for a legitimate Platinum/Grasshopper collaboration.

So how's about that Metal Gear Rising?

Looks pretty solid (no pun intended).

Kind of makes me wish that Platinum could end up doing a spin-off for another high-profile action series that needs a serious kick in the pants. :sly:

At any rate, I'm not really a fan of the MGS series, but clearly this game has nothing to do with the main series aside from having Raiden in it (and even then, he's nothing like the total pussy that he was in MGS2 ;) ). Also the combat looks insane. I'm definitely keeping my eye out for this game. With the upcoming NG and DMC games sure to be huge disappointments, its nice to have a this gem to look forward to. Good thing its multiplatform.

I hope they didn't scrap the PC version when the game switched developers.

But they probably did.

You poor bastard.

But yeah, MGR is all I have to look forward to in my favorite genre unless NeverDead counts.

Also hopefully this'll be the first Platinum game that sell well. They need some love in America.

ANARCHY REIGNS DELAYED AGAIN ARRRRRGH!

Anyway, that GamesCom trailer is pretty sweet. Awesome music, great-looking gameplay, and it confirms computer-controlled characters in multiplayer (which is excellent news because the community probably won't be too big).

To be honest the gameplay and footage for the game that I've seen up until now hasn't really impressed me, if only because it seems below Platinum's usual standards, but I'll still try and give this game a fair shake when it comes out since it may just be one of those games that's a lot more fun to play than it is to watch, which to be fair applies to a ton of games, anyways. Still, I can't help but feel that it lacks a certain element of charm that I see in most other games released by Platinum that draw me toward them, but like I said, I'm sure that the game will still be good in its own right and I'll probably end up trying it out eventually.

I still need to both buy and actually beat Bayonetta and Vanquish, though, as I still haven't gotten around to playing more than a few chunks of gameplay from those games rather than actually completing them properly. I'd just borrow them from my friend but he has them both for PS3 which is why I never did since I only have an XBOX360. Both games are fairly cheap now, though, so I can at least afford to pick up one of them, but right now I'm pretty busy with college work so I still probably won't get around to them for a while (probably not until the Summer rolls around, honestly).

It's just not as flashy as usual, I think. The gameplay looks like it's ripped straight out of God Hand to me. Similarly, that one is underwhelming to watch someone else play, but is magnificent when you actually get your hands on it.

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

Yeah, I'm sure the gameplay will still be solid. I trust Platinum to make a good game, so its not like I'm doubting them there. Still, it admittedly kind of hard for me to get excited about this game based on any videos, though. I'll actually need to try a demo for myself before I can be sold on it.
