Eisner. He still has a big supply of copies of the movie, back when he was trying to sell it as the next big thing before he was ousted.

Recently (by which I mean 3 hours ago) Racattack and I finished our two and a half month marathon of all the films in the Disney Animated Canon. Quite the endeavor. Every time we finished a movie, we added it to our own personalized lists, showing our preference for each movie. Now that our journey has come to a close, we are both proud to present our lists of the Disney classics, from our most favored to the least.

Keep in mind these lists are entirely personal and very difficult to create, especially as the number of films increased. It's difficult to put one movie you like above another, and as such, the positions are bound to fluctuate over time.

   1.   Pinocchio
   2.   The Lion King
   3.   The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh
   4.   Lilo and Stitch
   5.   Wreck-It Ralph

Cool lists! Watching through the entire Disney animated film canon from beginning to end is something I've been meaning to do for a while myself, but I just don't have the time to do such a thing right now. One day, though.

Yay, OCD!

I haven't watched a Disney movie in , outside a tiny bit of The Lion King. I'll have to remedy that soon.

I don't think that a worse Disney movie can exist than Home on the Range.

But we're not talking about sequels or live-action.

Good lists. I always thought it was tragic the Black Cauldron was nowhere near as good as the book(s) it adapts. It was Prydain's one shot, and it was a flop.

That and Chicken Little are clear bottom of the list to me. Say what you will about any of the others, at least they had effort put into them.

We need to talk about Atlantis more.

When Chicken Little first came out, I'd sing along to the song in the commercials by replacing the word slip to "one little bitch". I thought it was funny because I was 13, and random swearing was funny like that.

Finally seeing the film, this is probably still more entertaining than it is. There is very little good here. The CG looks grossly out of date, not just by today's standards, but even compared to Pixar and Dreamworks' stuff from the same period. Bringing up Dreamworks is important, since it's obvious that Disney wanted to try to capitalize on their success, by adding pop culture references and hit songs into the shuffle when they don't belong whatsoever, with few notable attempts of humor beyond this.

Still, I'd say that it's a little better than Home on the Range, since there's some semblance of love here. But it's not a very pleasant or fun film to watch.

In other news, the renaissance really did peak with The Lion King. This is a movie that never gets old.

I decided to pull off a pretty cool double feature tonight.

First, I put on my recently purchased copy of Hercules, and boy, does it look great on Blu. Disney has been hit or miss with their recent transfers, but the colors really pop here. And while this will never rank among my all-time favorites, I do find the movie to hold up a little better with age. It's nice to see Disney make a movie in their Renaissance format that has comedy at the storytelling's core, and not as a distraction like some of their other films. It doesn't fully work, true, but it's at least better than Pocahontas, and probably equal with Tarzan.

And I decided to follow it up with another Musker & Clements film, their most recent before Moana. If Disney could find a way to use computer graphics as visually creatively as Princess and the Frog's eased animation, I wouldn't be as opposed to their hand-drawn department being caput. And truthfully, I still resonate with this more than Tangled or Frozen, or really, anything Disney's studio has done since. True, not every element of the movie's plot works, and Newman only offered a few notable songs, but the characters are more than endearing enough to make this fun to watch.

The Emperor's New Groove is such a revelation. Easily Disney's funniest movie.

One of the best movies I've ever seen. I love it just as much today as I did when I was a kid.
