Let's see how fast I can win 200 points.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

I've been thinking, why did it take so long for 4 player splitscreen multiplayer to be the norm for home consoles? Sony didn't have 4 player until last gen. Also, it sucked that a little bit too much SNES/Genesis games missed out on 4 players. Which reminds me, I wish we somehow got a TMNT IV remake with the arcade version's 4 players feature and production values and the SNES version's extra features. A TMNT 3 remake with no slow down and 4's art direction would be nice too.

Systems weren't advanced enough until the PS2 generation. Even the N64 and PS1 chugged a lot with 4 players and could barely run them.

That's the basic reason.

Spark, did you see the concept art Backbone made for Streets of Rage and ESWAT?

Backbone's questionable record aside, I really like the way ESWAT looked. It reminds me of Hard Corps and Double Dragon Neon. A shame Sega isn't willing to take risks on downloadable remakes nowadays.

That is literally the fourth official attempt to make a new official Streets Of Rage game. Why Sega can't do it is beyond me.

E-Swat is an idea just begging for a new game. It's simple and straightforward and even has a built in hard mode (don't transform) that could be used effectively.

But then that's always been Sega's biggest weakpoint. They never utilize their franchises well.

I'm pretty sure Backbone wasn't responsible for the superior SVC ports and I'm still mad at them for not letting Sonic 3 and S&K have the lockon feature in SUGC. Erm anyway, that Eswat screen looked awesome!

Games I wish these studios were making:

Konami:

1. Contra Hard Corps 2 (with 4 players)
2. New 2D Castlevania/Symphony Of The Night HD remake
3. RKA5
4. Bomberman with a story mode and multiplayer levels that are actually good)
5. 6 player TMNT (Yeah, I know they no longer have the license)

Sega:

1. New Classic Sonic
2. Another Allstars racing but with a story mode like CTR's
3. Streets Of Rage 4/SOR1 remake
4. Gunstar Heroes 2 with 4 players (Yellow and Green. Give Green an evil boss twin named Dark Green or something. Plus a 4th weapon type and a punch button and a separate button for defense mode)
5. Golden Axe arcade sequel

Capcom:
1. Powerstone 3
2. DMC5
3. Sweet Home 2
4. Capcom vs SNK 3
5. New 2D Final Fight

Quote from: gunswordfist1. Contra Hard Corps 2 (with 4 players)

Would Hard Corps. Uprising count? It's more of a prequel, but it does take place in the same universe and has 4-player support.

And I second Bomberman and DMC 5.

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

I second Power Stone 3, even though it'll never happen.

I didn't know it was an actual prequel (or that it had 4 player, hmmm). I meant an actual sequel and one that plays like the original.

The rumor is that Dimps isn't working with Sega anymore, so we might get a good portable Sonic sooner or later since the Rush formula is well tapped out.

It doesn't have 4 player or branching paths, but it has a lot of unlockable moves and amazing level design. Instead of the slide you can now sprint and run up walls (sort of like Mega Man to Mega Man X) and you can unlock things like a double jump and air-dashing. If you enjoy Contra you should really play it.
