Speaking of the Gigante fight, I fucking HATE that button prompt you have to do to beat him. If you don't know to smash X as fast as possible before it pops up, you're screwed.

Here are some recommended tweaks I have for the game:

  • Set Camera Speed to 2 (not aiming speed, default aiming speed is fine). This makes the camera much easier to control.
  • Set Aiming Marker (I think it's called) to Classic. This replaces the little red dot with the RE4/5/REV laser sight, which is not only cooler to look at, but a lot easier to aim with (IMO).
  • Turn off Icon Display (I think it's called). This disables the HUD, which permanently removes the lame crosshairs and waypoint marker. You can still briefly pop up the health/ammo display by tapping L2 (LB?) at any time, too, so this makes it more like classic RE.
  • Turn Subtitles On. Some of the dialogue is kind of hard to hear.

Thanks for the tips! I'll make sure to do that when I play it again. I'm glad you can use the classic laser pointer from RE4/5. Much better than the lame crosshair.

Yeah, I wound up passing the controller over to my friend for the Gigante fight because I was having no luck with it.

I've been avoiding RE6 as a whole, but I've gather bits and pieces of info. Because of that, I have a question. Without mentioning story spoilers, would you guys be able to sum up why RE6 is looking good? I'm curious cause I'm a bit worried. The things I have heard don't sound so exciting.

The demo was fun. Just play it and find out if you like it. There aren't really any spoilers in there.

Guys, Capcom is "heavily considering" the possibility of a Resident Evil 2 remake. Please show your support by posting on their community forum! http://www.capcom-unity.com/resident_evil/go/thread/view/7391/29400541/re2-remake-possible-with-fan-support?pg=1

I wonder if that'll be the Wii U RE they said they wanted to make last year. For some reason, being that RE1 was redone on the GC, it seems likely to me that RE2 would go on another Nintendo console.

I hope it's not a Wii-U exclusive. I'd like to be able to play this remake sooner rather than later.

The fanboy outrage over a RE2 remake being Wii U exclusive would be like the Bayonetta 2 debacle times one hundred.

Has REmake even been re-released on anything else? I would think it has since this is Capcom.

Just the GC and Wii. For that reason, I just struggle to imagine RE2 remade would hit Sony and Microsoft consoles, when RE1 didn't. But that's just me.

Nintendo owns the publishing rights to REmake and RE0. Capcom could probably grab 'em for themselves if they really wanted to, but those titles didn't sell nearly well enough on the GameCube/Wii (combined!) for that scenario to appear viable.

I'm pretty sure the RE2 remake will also come out on 360 and PS3 if it ends up happening. And PC, if I'm lucky.

Don't you have a 360 anyway?
Have you seen RE5 or DMC4 on the PC? The graphics and frame rate are practically next-gen already.
