Jimmy Eat World - "Sweetness"

Ahhhhh way to go Spark, you got me on a kick now.  >_<
No kidding. A month ago I felt like listening to one song and ended up with both albums on loop for a few days. It really sneaks up on you if you let it.

Bleed American (or yeah, the self-titled one depending on when you bought it) is especially addicting. Great album.

Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

I knew they'd been making new music but I assumed it was all like "Chaos" (repeating their earlier hits, "Ice Cream" and "The Bomb"). I love this. The video is...something else too.
Well, I got so burned out on the road
Too many fags, too much blow
And then Mick and I split up and I said,
"Kid, it's time to take a little bit of a hiatus."
So I got myself a gig at the coffee shop
and I love it.
Why don't you take that corner booth,
I'll take your order in a minute...

Gotham City- "1999"

This is an 80's Swedish traditional heavy metal band I just discovered, and they're pretty good. They remind me of Saxon quite a lot.

"Call Me Maybe"

Been stuck in my damn head for hours.

Robin Thicke - "Ooo La La"

Even Justin Timberlake would swoon over this. Make this a single, Robin!!

I can't stop listening to "We Built This City".  What is wrong with me?

When I listen to people slag that song, I mostly hear how different Grace Slick and the band's style used to be from this point in their careers. I don't hear a lot of solid criticism on the song itself. Just: it's lousy.

Which I get how people can think it is. But I've heard worse. Quite a bit worse.

Because it's pure, unadulterated, grade-A cheese.  It's not bad by any means, it's just so darn cheesy, it couldn't be more 80's if it tried.

It's really hard to nail down that Signature 80's Sound in one song. But, if I tried, I really think anything from Stock-Aitken-Waterman would be my first stop.

A: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMCXx5k01Tg (I really think this one might be The One)
B: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGNiXGX2nLU
C: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ (I think this would be everyone else's pick, but I still say A's the Ultimate)

I like most 80s pop music(either ironically or unironically, depending on what it is), but I fucking hate this song. No thank you.
