I wonder if this what Steve Blum meant by wanting people to tune into CN on March 30th? He made a post about that on Twitter, but I think he might have deleted that.

EDIT: Turns out it was a retweet from Andy Merrill. https://twitter.com/#!/amerrill2/status/178204946414567426

Hmm, looks like they're bringing back the Cartoon Cartoon/Top 5 shows they had a few years back.

Very nice, and perfect timing, too.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Some notes I have

-I wouldn't be surprised if EEnE, Courage and KND get a pass from airing on here since they still air regularly on the network. They could still air on here anyway, but I wouldn't count that possibility out.
-I really hope that later shows like Camp Lazlo or Gym Partner air on here. Foster's isn't too bad a choice, since even though it isn't that nostalgic, a fair amount of people who grew up watching the Cartoon Cartoons watched it anyway, but shows like these don't really belong on here.
-Speaking of Foster's, if they're going to stick to just 7-11 minute segments, I hope that it isn't a regularly occurring show. With only 6 shorts, it's presence will get old FAST.
-I hope this does well enough to land into two or more hours, so we can get full half hours of these shows, and maybe some HB/Warner/MGM as well.

Andy Merill referred to this block as the return of Cartoon Planet, with Brak and Zorak showing cartoons.

Edit: It's funny, though. For the longest time, I've wanted a revival of JBVO to happen on CN, maybe with a more contemporary host like Mordecai and Rigby, but definitely extended to an hour and to be able to accept requests from people of all ages, for older and newer shows. This might be a starting point for that.

JBVO was a fantastic concept, and from what I remember about it, was executed quite well (sure Johnny was nuts, but I still liked him as a host). It's a shame that it didn't last; I'm assuming the cost of keeping a project like that going wasn't worth the offset of its somewhat tepid ratings.

I'd be really surprised if they ever went that route again, but I guess you never know. I'd be in favor of it, definitely.

Avaitor

Maybe if the ratings are strong enough, they'll go through with something like that. Who knows?

Oh, and the following week, they're going to show episodes of EEnE, Camp Lazlo, Chowder, and Billy & Mandy. So it looks like everything is fair game.

Out of curiosity, of all the shows mentioned so far, which do you not hate?

Check this out.

:happytime:

Only thing that disappoints me here is Chowder. I can live with Flapjack and Foster's (even though they don't fit within the theme at all) because I like those shows, but man... Chowder? Gross.

Avaitor

Well Camp Lazlo's airing too. I'd take season 1/early season 2 of Chowder over Lazlo any day.
