So the Paramount/WB thing is still deadlocked after seemingly awful news where Gavin Newsom fucked up earlier this week. Not seeing the half-full side of things at the moment, but I hope Paramount ends up fucking itself too hard to make the deal work. Especially since they've been pretty shady recently. Like how someone tried to spread rumors that Tom Hardy was difficult on set of a Paramount show, which his co-stars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren refuted. Or how the company tried to smear Mark Ruffalo as an antisemite, which got undermined by several Jewish artists defending the actor. Zaslav might suck too, but it's clear Paramount is not run by good people who play fair even by the standards of cold, pragmatic entertainment CEOs. Showbiz news keeps getting bleaker, but at the same time, more transparent, so I hope people keep calling out the bullshit instead of taking things at face value.
