Has anyone ever played the Christmas-themed fangames, Merry Gear Solid?

JACK IS BACK!

It's funny how there is a much bigger MG game coming out in the main series, and yet this teased sequel to a spin-off game is all that I really care about. I just hope thst this one will also be released on last-gen consoles (just like how Ground Zeroes was), as I probably won't be able to play it for a long time, otherwise. Then again, if we really are even getting MGR2, then perhaps my circumstances might change by the time that it comes out.

What do you think will become of Metal Gear after Phantom Pain is released? I mean, MGS4 completely wrapped up the Solid Snake sub-series. And, from the sound of things, MGSV will wrap up the prequel series thus tying the knot on both arcs. What will there be left to do afterward with this series?

Or will Kojima just end it? After all, we know that he wants to move on.

There's no way Konami will let Kojima end it. However, between the existence of Rising as a potential series and his work on Silent Hills, I believe he'll get at least some respite from Metal Gear for awhile.

it's sad, kojima is so much more than mgs. he could have made half a dozen more franchises by now but the fans have been too greedy.

The only thing is. Metal Gear isn't a franchise like Mario where new standalone games are always being made. It has a larger narrative. And after MGSV, he will have done everything there is to do with the two protagonists of the series (Solid Snake and Big Boss). That larger narrative will pretty much be done. I'm not saying he won't continue it. I'm just saying I don't see how it will be done. All I can imagine is him doing that remake of the original Metal Gear that was hinted at before.

It's not supposed to be, no, but I'm pretty sure Konami thinks of it this way. It's their only video game that sells, after all.

Kojima is going to have no idea what to do next, then. :P

Peanutbutter

Part of the problem is the overzealous fanbase, but most of the rest is because of how lazy Kojima got. Not one good reason Contra had to go down the way it did, they could at the very least have took better care of it and have that alongside MGS. There's plenty of other stuff Kojima might could have developed for them, but nope.

we're never going to get another Boktai, huh?
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Amazing, isn't it? This is how lousy Konami has gotten. Castlevania will be there soon enough and Silent Hill isn't too far behind it.
