Is Nintendo doing anything for Mario's 30th anniversary this year?

Thinking about it, Super Mario All-Stars is just about the best franchise-based video game collection I can think of. It not only compiles three fantastic games into one, but updates them in visuals and sound. Nearly perfect remakes.

But only two of the remakes are actually good. :sly:

All of them are good. The only people who disagree are losers who think "different = worse". :sly:

But it is worse.

Edit: I need to replay the NES version of Lost Levels to note the real differences between it and the All Stars version.
It doesn't matter what you say, soon you'll be dead anyway.

That's a strange way of saying "just different, bu not necessarily worse".

Pretty much the same as SMB1. But it's still Lost Levels, so it's not good either way.

Reading comprehension fail.

And yeah, I just ran through World 1 of SMB2j on my NES(I have one of these), and it has the same exact physics of SMB1, you can change direction in mid air, you bounce off of blocks rather than through them, it's not lethargic etc.  With this in mind, I'd say that the Lost Levels on All Stars is worse than the NES/Famicom version.

The new Mario Kart DLC tracks have been revealed:

Tracks (old)

- Baby Park
- Ribbon Road
- Neo Bowser City
- Cheese Land

Tracks (new)

- Nature Road
- Big Blue
- Lingling Metro
- Animal Crossing

Info here.

Ribbon Road and Cheese Land are the two best courses in Super Circuit and Baby Park is a classic. Not to mention we get another F-Zero track! Awesome stuff!

I do wonder if Big Blue is hinting at something else? EAD, you sneaky devils. If Big Blue becomes DLC for Smash Bros. then I'll really think something odd is going on.

Did they just start putting non-DK/Mario Nintendo characters in a Kart game? I remember seeing a screenshot with Link in it.

Yep, Link is in the game as are two Animal Crossing characters. I'm hoping Captain Falcon gets in if we can't have a new F-Zero game.

I assumed it was a much bigger crossover than that. Funny how I never thought about that before.

Listen to this Big Blue remix.

Big Blue has always been my favorite F-Zero track and this more than does it justice. With that Mute City remix I'm hoping these guys do the music to any new F-Zero game. Too awesome.

I liked that track as well and this is a good remix!

Wow. Ribbon Road and Cheese Land. Two of the most unique level tropes in the series, that haven't been revisited once, and now they're finally getting a comeback. I agree with Spark, they were the best and most memorable courses in Super Circuit. While I don't really like the track itself, I do like Neo Bowser City as a Bowser-themed track, because it's different enough from the obligatory castle. Always enjoyed the manic chaos of Baby Park as well.

More F-Zero is perfect, and of course, I welcome the Animal Crossing track. Nature Wood's looking great as a new original course, and I'm assuming Lingling Metro's a reference to a Mii game or Splatoon? I haven't watched the trailer for it yet.

All in all, this pack's looking even better than the first.
