I remember my friends and I tired fast of it. Once Diddy Kong Racing and Crash Team Racing came out the game was instantly replaced.

No idea why people still love it so much, honestly.

I wish I got to play more of Diddy Kong Racing. Now that was an imaginative game.

The best kart racers are easily Diddy Kong Racing and Sonic Racing Transformed IMO.

Spark Of Spirit

My top 5 are Double Dash, Diddy Kong Racing, Sonic Racing Transformed, Crash Team Racing, and Mario Kart 8. In no particular order.

CTR is my only favorite one, mostly because I may have not played any other good kart games outside of demoes.

Man, I do hope Nintendo does one more DLC pack for 8. One for Battle Mode. It's all I've really wanted.

Battle Course 2 (Super)
Double Deck (64)
Block Fort (64)
Battle Course 4 (Super Circuit)
Luigi's Mansion (Double Dash)
Tart Top (DS)
Delfino Pier (Wii)
Wuhu Town (7)

Includes Bob-omb Blast, Shine Runners, Shine Thief, and Coin Runners modes. Some DLC characters as well.

Add that and I'm completely fine with what we've got.

Here's a DLC idea; instead of just uploading lame costumes for Mii Racers, make MK8's amiibo compatibility actually worth our time and have these figures become playable characters (IE; if you have a Captain Falcon amiibo, you can play as Captain Falcon, a Pit figure makes Pit a playable character, etc.). It would certainly give a new dynamic to these figures, one that goes far beyond just collecting them for the hell of it. I feel like that was ultimately the kind of potential had in mind for this "bring your character to life" idea anyway, one that has, for whatever reason, been sorely underutilized up to this point.

It'll never happen though.

As someone mentioned earlier, I hope we get more DLC. I wouldn't mind if games like this and Smash were updated every six months to keep it fresh.

Smash we know is going to. Lucas is coming in June with the tournament mode and Miiverse stage and if the DLC data is to be believed there are still five more characters to go soon. Not to mention the ballot results on top of it for next year.

I do hope MK8 continues as well. The DLC team is much smaller than the full game one, anyway. No reason not to take advantage of it.

Are there any Mario Kart games with more item usage overload than the Wii version?

That's good. The Wii version really got carried away.

How well has the Wii U Kart been accepted by fans? I always assumed the fan favorite was the DS game but I might be wrong there.

Spark Of Spirit

General reaction has been the best since DS's reaction. There haven't been any major complaints aside from the lack of dedicated battle mode courses (which could EASILY change with DLC) and the roster being as terrible as it has been since Double Dash knocked it out of the park.

And that roster could also easily change with DLC.
