Ask for/give video game recommendations here.

I'll start: Are there any good turn based RPGs with world maps this gen on the 360?

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

As someone who doesn't really care for JPRGs, I only tried one this gen: Tales of Vesperia.

Personally, I found its actual over-world to be pretty bland, its characters to be derivative and unoriginal, its plot to be whole pretentious and easily predictable, and the combat was fairly good but got old pretty quick. That said, that's the exact same way that I feel about almost every other JRPG that I have ever played, and all of those games as well as Tales of Vespiria got high levels of praise from both fans and critics alike. So, if you're into that kind of shit than maybe you might like this game as well. :>

No, but seriously I have no idea. I don't really get the appeal of JRPGs (or even most WRPGs or RPGs in general, for that matter), so I can't make a proper recommendation here. Desensitized or Rosalina's Spare Wand would probably be better suited to recommending you something.

As for me:

Somebody recommend me a good action game or platformer available on the XBOX360 that's challenging in a fair way and has lots of content and replay value. Maybe its just me but there seems to be a HUGE lack of those on this console (well, both of the HD consoles in general) from my POV.

I mean, its very telling that I have just been playing RE4 for the first time and its easily miles better than any other shooter or action game in general that I have played this gen (on the XBOX360, that is).

Also, 3D platformers and TPSs for the 360.

For 3D Platformers on the 360, you've got Banjo Kazooie on XBLA and Sonic Generations.

That's pretty much it.

:D Damn.

Alright, how about 3D beat em ups/hack n slashes (Yes, I know what Splatterhouse is)

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

As far as the XBOX360 or PS3 go, aside from Ninja Gaiden II/Sigma 2, Bayonetta, DMC4, GoW3 (if you're into this series), and maybe even Splatterhouse (if you're into gore-fests), there aren't really any other noteworthy beat-em-up or hack n' slash games for the HD consoles that I'm aware of. Its not a very popular genre, as you can see, given by the limited amount of good ones out there.

Now, if you want a good TPS, Alan Wake is easily the best one that I've played from this gen. Other than that, you're just going to have to wait until Max Payne 3 comes out if you want a great TPS action game. :sly:

Foggle, is Thief Deadly Shadows for the Xbox worth getting?

Spark, which Transformers 360 game is good and do you know if it's sequel is good?

Never played the Xbox version, but it's a great stealth game; one of my all-time favorites. Also, the horror level is excellent. It has some pretty nasty graphical issues with 360's backwards compatibility, though.

Quote from: WikipediaParticle effects (torch-light, smoke, portholes, treasure, etc.) can be seen through all objects. Shadows are unstable in some places, as they appear to suddenly shift if the camera is moved.

Spark Of Spirit

I played War For Cybertron for the 360, and it's pretty good. It's especially fun if you use custom soundtracks and play the soundtrack from the Transformers movie since the stock music is pretty blah.

I haven't gotten around to the sequel yet.

The Shadow Gentleman

After spending sometime scrolling through the game forum, I've decided I genuinely want to play more games. I don't have as much spare time as I used to, but I'm hoping you guys can provide some quality games.

I hope.

Anyway, I've got a DS (most likely not getting a 3D), a 360, and a Wii. I may be getting something this year that will let me play PC, but that's up in the air at the moment.

FIRE AWAY.
