Oh  :D

And yeah, me love Nemesis. I believe that was my first survival horror game, if not zombie game.

Let me pull a talon and rank all the main series games real quick...

REmake
4
2
3
1
Revelations
0
Code Veronica
5

Hoping that 6 will finally dethrone the remake. :joy:

For some reason I keep thinking that you prefer 2 over 4 (I thought it was you're 2nd favorite RE game next to REmake).

Anyways, 4 still remains to be the only RE game that I've ever played in full, and since its my first true RE experience it'll probably end up being my favorite and the game that I judge all other RE titles by.

Don't forget GAIDEN.

Just kidding, I never actually played Gaiden and I imagine it's pretty bad. But it is pretty funny that Barry is one of the main characters.

I seriously want a Resident Evil game starring Barry. He is the manliest of all the Resident Evil characters. :swoon:

Spark Of Spirit

I was so disappointed when they wrote him out of Umbrella Chronicles. Such a slap in the face.

Oh lord, Gaiden is awful. About five minutes of the ROM was all I could handle.

I, too, would love a Resident Evil game starring Barry. Sadly, I doubt that will ever happen. :(

Agreed. He was the best character in the first game by far! Seriously, his dialogue may have been hilariously stupid, but he was quite literally the only character with any depth at all.

Yeah, Barry will never get the love he deserves. :( At least we have him in Mercenaries Reunion in RE5 and he's seriously awesome.

Just for fun, here's every RE game I own (physically and digitally). I never realized how many doubles of some of them I have.

Resident Evil 1 (PlayStation Network, DS)
Resident Evil 0 (GameCube)
Resident Evil Remake (GameCube)
Resident Evil 2 (GameCube)
Resident Evil 3 (PlayStation Network, GameCube) (I got the GameCube version for a penny! Seemed worth it!)
Resident Evil Code Veronica (GameCube) (Is the GameCube version awful? Maybe I should get the HD version off XBLA or PSN.)
Resident Evil 4 (GameCube, Wii, XBLA)
Resident Evil 5 (360)

I've never owned any of the spin-off games (Dead Aim, Outbreak, Chronicles, Operation, etc.).

Spark Of Spirit

How is the DS version of 1, anyway? I've never seen any comments on it.

Yeah, it was overlooked by pretty much everyone. It's basically Director's Cut with slightly clumsier controls and some tacked on touch-screen crap. Not a bad port by any means, but the alternatives are better.

Quote"Jake's story is a story of escape," says Resident Evil 6's Director, Eiichiro Sasaki; "he is being followed and he is trying to evade these forces that are trying to capture him in the middle of the Idonian civil war. The horror elements you can introduce in that type of story are different from other characters, and the way he will play is different, too."

His co-op partner is Sherry Birkin, all grown up and as much a mutant as Muller. Returning to the series for the first time since Resident Evil 2, Sherry is loaded with immunities of her own and has survived in US government custody for the best part of a decade without the G-Virus overwhelming her body. Together, Birkin and Muller are an unstoppable pair of near-invincible, self-regenerating superhumans, and their campaign is a melee fighter Capcom are waiting until E3 to properly reveal.

Quotetheir campaign is a melee fighter

Fucking hell. RE 6 just gets better and better! I really hope Jake/Sherry's game plays similar to God Hand... instant GOTY if so. I've also heard rumors that their scenario will have platforming segments.

This is just sounding too damn good. C'mon Capcom, you can redeem yourself yet! :swoon:

Don't expect remakes of 2 and 3 until next-gen, if ever. And don't expect any remakes of CV or 0 - or another remake of 1 - at all.

Why do you say that?

Foggle

These are all paraphrased from interviews I've read (don't have the links anymore, though):

Code Veronica and 0 are not popular enough to be remade. Also, remakes of these would be entirely pointless, since an HD version of CV already exists and 0 still looks great graphically.

The team working on REmake did not particularly enjoy developing it, so there's absolutely no way Capcom would be open to remaking the first game a second time. Plus, while some people may have trouble getting used to the old style, another remake would be fairly pointless, especially without input from Mikami.

Interest has been expressed in doing a remake of 2 for about 7 years now, but nothing's ever come of it. The project is either dead in the water or postponed 'til next gen. A remake of 3 has never been commented on, but it seems like a no-brainer if they do 2, since they could reuse a lot of the art assets for it (as in the original 3).

But then I ask again, why do you think we'll have to wait till the next gen? :P

Foggle

Because it's mid-2012 and they haven't even started working on any remakes yet.
