Thanks guys. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

So, I failed. The worst thing is that it wasn't even by that much. I needed a raw score minimum of 75, and I got a 70, overall. If NABP wasn't run by idiots, they'd let you schedule your second attempt whenever you felt ready for it. Unfortunately I have to wait 91 days before I can retake the exam, so even though I didn't fail by that much, and could probably pass it if I retook it a week from now after some more studying, they are making me wait for 3 whole months, which is also going to affect my status of finding a job since I won't be licensed until December at this rate (assuming that I pass my second attempt). It sucks because now I HAVE to keep this shit in my mind for 3 more months since if I don't study it and just review it a week before hand, I'll forget most of what I studied. Combine that with the fact that I still have another exam to take, and I'm in a pretty shit situation right now.

LumRanmaYasha

Damn, that sucks dude. I know how it feels to miss the cut for something just by a bit, and how angering and depressing that can be. It sounds like the NABP really should change that waiting policy for exam retakes, since it causes complications like this for a lot of people. It sounds like a total pain to have to retain all that information for the next three months, especially when you got another exam to study for, but hopefully doing so will help you pass your second attempt.

Avaitor

Wow, I'm so sorry. It really is terrible to miss the mark by JUST a little, especially when you're not instantly given a chance to outdo yourself. That's just irritating. :/

But I'm sure you can and will totally ace it when the time comes!
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Yeah, I'm confident that I could pass my second attempt, but for now I'll have to see what I can do to find some part-time work, as I really need the income. I'm not too worried about the other exam, since it's much less material than the NAPLEX to study for.

Foggle

Wow man, that really sucks; sorry to hear it. :( I also understand the horrible stress situations like this can place on you, so I definitely know how you feel, even if I've probably never taken any exams as difficult as the one you're referring to. It's pretty stupid that you have to wait so long to retake it. But I know you can do it next time!

Spark Of Spirit

That's a shame. Don't worry, you'll get 'em next time.

Oh man, weird day today. I was only at work for an hour and a half when the electricity was knocked out. The police soon showed up and told everyone that all buildings in the area were to be evacuated. A construction crew down the hill ripped through a gas main. The strong odor of rotten eggs/sour milk-ish smell flooded the air which was almost enough to make a person puke if the wind blew it in just the right direction. Fortunately the broken ends of the gas main were crimped closed and everything was back to normal by around noon. I ended up taking the rest of the day off after this happened because we had no idea how long this would take.

Thinking about it afterwards, since such gases are normally odorless, it makes a person wonder how horrible such situations would be if the odor additive in natural gas (propane as well) was never used to alert people of such leaks. O_O

Foggle

Damn, that sounds awful! Glad the gas leak didn't cause anything worse than some gross smells to happen, though.

Lord Il

Yeah, tell me about it. The big worry was that it might get highly concentrated in the sewer systems and come directly into the buildings through the plumbing.

Gas leaks are nothing to take for granted. Whenever such gas odors are detected, it's better to investigate than to shrug it off as being nothing.

I am having a bad week so far. Among other things, I totally bombed my history mid-term. I suppose I can still turn myself around with the paper and the final, but the fact that I could've done well on it if I only spent more time studying for it and memorizing certain things really depresses the hell out of me. In general, the year hasn't been going how I wanted, and I haven't accomplished anything I wanted to do. All I can do is try and turn things around as soon as possible, but damn do I regret all my missteps and wasted time so far. Sometimes I wonder "what the hell am I doing with my life?," and honestly, I really don't know....

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

Sorry to hear about the exam not going well for you, but I trust that you know that I understand just how you feel in that regard, having had my own bad experience with that sort of circumstance fairly recently.

It's also a bummer to hear about your bad week/year, which I can also relate to. Well, the first half of the year wasn't bad for me, but ever since I've graduated I've felt completely useless since I can't find a part time job to make some income while I study for my exams, and the fact that I even still have to take these exams sets me back even more, and generally I just feel useless the way that I am now.

That said, we both still have time to turn our lives around before the end of the year, so it's better to look forward and figure out what you can do from now on rather than dwell on what you weren't able to do up until now. ;)

LumRanmaYasha

Thanks, man. I hope things get better for you as well.   :)

As for me, I know there's nothing I can really do about what's already happened, but what I can do is work to turn things around, and there's still time in the year to do that. I just need to get a schedule in order and make time for everything I have to do more carefully. Once I do that, hopefully I'll get a lot of personal stuff done, and have a solid semester of school overall, and be at a good place to start the next year at.

Spark Of Spirit

Here's hoping you ace it next time.  :)
