N64 had only one Mario game, and that was a launch title. In fact, the N64 controller was basically designed around that game, which explains a few things.

i did not know that. i do like how many buttons the n64 has.

Super Mario World was included as the pack in game with every SNES console.  The other launch games were F-Zero, Sim City, and Pilotwings.
And not too much later came ActRaiser and Super Castlevania IV.

Incredible that a system could start off so strong.

I will let you know once I finish replaying 2 and 3. :)

By the way, are there any downsides to playing the GBA version of 3 over the SNES version? I know the music's better, but are there any downgrades at all?

The graphics are sharper on the SNES version and there are different minigames (which can go either way, really) but otherwise they are the same from what I remember.

Ah, good. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't any cut content or frame rate problems.

Spark Of Spirit

Rock solid framerate and it has more stages than the SNES version.

So, you're good to go.  :)

The only thing I remember about Tropical Freeze's soundtrack was that the owl boss' music sounded like One-Winged Angel a bit.

Nice list. There's a ton of good stuff to choose from. Sort of like trying to make a top ten Sonic or Mega Man track list.
