SUDA 51 and Grasshopper Manufacure

Just found this interesting tidbit from Killer Is Dead's announcement:

Suda 51 is directing Killer is Dead, but it's not a sequel to Killer 7. In this original title, you play as a prisoner who's been sentenced to die. Your goal is to kill your assassin.

Not only did Suda not direct the game, that isn't KID's plot at all. The early concept art also barely resembles the final product. Sounds like, just like Shadows of the Damned, the finished Killer Is Dead has almost nothing to do with its original concept. Damn publisher meddling; no wonder Suda51 hasn't personally directed a game since Fatal Frame...
