Kojima Productions has re-formed as an independent studio with many of the same staff who worked there when it was at Konami. They are now developing an original IP and are being funded by Sony.

Probably the happiest ending for the man and his team imaginable.

Apparently their new game will be published by Sony, releasing first on PS4 and then later on PC. It will also have nothing to do with either Metal Gear or Silent Hills.

It just feels like there was a lot more going on about that situation than what's been put out on the table. While it does seem as though Hayter was ousted from continuing the series, I have to wonder if Kojima did have a legit reason for the recasting.
It's still confusing.
