Kojima Productions has re-formed as an independent studio with many of the same staff who worked there when it was at Konami. They are now developing an original IP and are being funded by Sony.

Probably the happiest ending for the man and his team imaginable.

Ah sweet, I heard the news but did not know that some of his staff stayed.  :)

Apparently their new game will be published by Sony, releasing first on PS4 and then later on PC. It will also have nothing to do with either Metal Gear or Silent Hills.

They specifically said that?

Yes. But it's not like Konami would let them make either game anyway.

I thought you meant a spiritual sequel. Of course Konami would never let them use those IPs.

Hmm..I hope that means they don't hate each other, unlike what the internet seems to be playing up.

David Hayter has some choice words for Kojima.
It just feels like there was a lot more going on about that situation than what's been put out on the table. While it does seem as though Hayter was ousted from continuing the series, I have to wonder if Kojima did have a legit reason for the recasting.
It's still confusing.

Ford has been using MGS cutscenes for their latest car commercials.

And they brought back the original voice actors for Snake, Campbell, and even Psycho Mantis! :joy:

So now they've moved on from Dragon Ball Z commercials to Metal Gear Solid ones, huh?

I sense that Ford is reaching out to a very specific demographic, here.
