So I feel like listing a few of my favorite game antagonists. For the sake of spoilers (as the mere acknowledgement of some of these characters can qualify as a spoiler, if their role as a villain is meant to be a plot twist), I will state the name of the game they are from, and then put their names in spoiler tags. That way, you can just ignore the spoiler tags of any games you haven't played.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Spoiler
Ganon (by far the best version of this character)
[close]

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Spoiler
The Boss
[close]

Chrono Trigger
Spoiler
Lavos (this is more about the idea of the villain in what it represents, as in, the fear and capabilities of it rather than any real characterization)
[close]

Fallout 3
Spoiler
President John Henry Eden
[close]

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Spoiler
Grubba (he's not the game's main villain, but he's much better than the main villains and quite possibly the best Mario RPG character ever)
[close]

And quite possibly the best one I can think of...

Silent Hill 2
Spoiler
James Sunderland

Interview with Shinji Mikami from a few months back: http://www.polygon.com/features/2014/2/20/5425802/shinji-mikami-the-evil-within

This is a great piece for those interested in the gaming industry. Mikami comes across as a really good guy who legitimately cares about others and game development. It gives a bit of an idea about what forming a new studio is like, discusses how Capcom changed over the years, and confirms the rumor that EA canned Suda51's original idea for Shadows of the Damned.

You know what I thought about a few weeks ago? I haven't yet Devil May Cry in over 10 years. I am planning on making a new favorite games list that excludes games I haven't or barely played recently (< 3 years)

Finally got around to reading this. Great interview. I've never read a Mikami interview so I finally got some insight on the guy. I liked what I read about him and I hope The Evil Within turns out great.

Favorite series, in no order:
MGS
DMC
Mega Man
Sonic
Mario
Zelda
Max Payne
Splinter Cell
Doom
Metal Slug
Resident Evil
Streets Of Rage
Street Fighter
Since the last favorite game list I made just made me look stupid, I'll use this as reference instead.

I decided to take a lot of games off of my list because I haven't played a lot of my favorites in years. Some over 10 years. So this is the list I put together but it definitely may be subject to change:

10. Spelunky
9. Cave Story
8. Metal Slug 3
7. Gunstar Heroes
6. Streets Of Rage 2
5. Streets Of Rage Remake
4. Phantasy Star IV
3. Doom
2. Doom II
1.

Honorable Mentions:
Metal Slug XX, Street Fighter 3, Street Fighter 4, Rayman Origins, Splinter Cell Conviction, Far Cry Blood Dragon, Mass Effect 2, Halo 3, Hitman Absolution

Most of the games I couldn't add due to being too long since I played them or I haven't beat them: BulletStorm, Sweet Home, Final Fantasy VIII and IX, Max Payne 1, 2 and 3, MGS 2-4, Splinter Cell, Astro Boy, Castlevania SOTN and Harmony Of Dissonance, Super Metroid, Metroid 1, Zero Mission, Super Mario 2, World 1 and 3, The Warriors, James Bond Everything Or Nothing, Deus Ex, Goldeneye, Devil May Cry 1, 3, and 4, Bayonetta, Halo CE, Golden Sun*, Mega Man X, Tomb Raider Legend, Red Dead Redemption*, Riddick:Buther Bay, Resident Evil 2 and 3, Zelda, Sonic, Half-Life, TMNT 2, 3 and IV, Contra 3 and Hard Corps, RKA, Vigilante 8 1 and 2 and every good Ninja Gaiden, Earthworm Jim, Aladdin Genesis, M.U.S.H.A, Breath Of Fire 1 and 2 and Little Samson.

* - It hasn't been that long but I had a long break during some time into the game and I feel like I can't give a fair ranking of it because of that.

Spark Of Spirit

Good choices, though I thought Hard Corps would be up there for sure.
