I still haven't even played SMG2 yet. I feel like some sort of leper around here just saying that.  :frown:

Hey, if you think that feels awkward, just keep in mind that I still haven't played EITHER Super Mario Galaxy game, yet. :>

Avaitor

Well I've played both, but I still haven't got around to NSMBWii.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Well, now I guess I feel a little better.

Eh, same here.

I'm so behind on the Wii right now, it's not even funny.

You should cross reference their list with what we posted over in the Wii thread. I wonder how much overlap we'll see?

If SMG1 is above 2, then I just don't know.

Come on, that's a little far. SMG2 isn't that much better than SMG. :P
It's probably minority opinion, but I did play them back to back and really thought SMG2 just did everything better to such a great degree.

If there are two Wii games you absolutely must not miss out on it's NSMBWii (multiplayer especially) and SMG2.

Really? I mean NSMBW is a great game, but I don't think it's anything mindblowing, especially compared to either of the Galaxy games. And if you have SMB3 or SMW handy, it's no requirement if you ask me. :-\

Super Mario World came out twenty years ago, though. And it doesn't have co-op multiplayer like this, in fact no game really does. That would be like skipping Galaxy because Sunshine exists, they're not quite the same thing despite similar ideas and approaches.

As far as 2D Mario, it's the best one in about two decades, too.

I've played through the first 3 worlds of NWMBW with my little sister, and I think its great.

Saying that its not a requirement just because SMB3 and SMW exist is pretty silly to me. Like Desensitized said, this game has its own elements that those games don't have, with the main thing being co-op. In addition that, its more good 2D Mario. Why on Earth would anyone want to pass that up? Good 2D Mario platforming makes up some of the best gameplay of all time.

I don't mean to say that NSMBW isn't a requirement. But I think putting it in the top 2 most important is pretty big. Especially cause, as far as 2D platformers go, I actually think DKCR is miles ahead of NSMBW in terms of quality.

That's not exactly how I meant it, though. It was in response to Spark saying NSMBW fits into the top 2 biggest requirements. To put it one way, if you could only own 2 Wii games, I think the best idea would be to get two other games, and just settle on sticking with SMB3 or SMW for that fix.

But in general, NSMBW is indeed a must own.

Well, obviously my opinion isn't for everyone, but it's well known around here that NSMBWii is basically my favorite game from this gen.  :)

Righto, it's like skipping A Crack In Time because Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal exist.

Also, to flip one of your earlier statements, Spark, I would be totally fine with someone skipping Sunshine and going straight to Galaxy. .3.

I actually think I sold my copy of Super Mario Sunshine since I can't find it anywhere.

Wow, I must have disliked that a lot. I've never sold a Mario game in my life.
